About us

Mission

We believe in the transformative power of education to foster personal growth, inclusion, and collective justice.

In Intercultural life, we create spaces where learning is active, reflective, and rooted in real life. Through non-formal methodologies, we support young people and the educational community to explore, question, and act—promoting intercultural dialogue, gender equity, and ecological sustainability. We work at the local and international levels to:

⦁ Provide meaningful learning opportunities for young people with fewer opportunities.
⦁ Strengthen youth work through inclusive and participatory practices.
• Facilitate dialogue and solidarity between cultures, genders, and generations.
• Support rural development through education and community volunteering.
• Promote ecological sustainability at every stage of our projects.

Vision

We envision a world where all young people can grow with confidence, curiosity, and connection—no matter their background.

Our vision is a future where education is a tool for empowerment, equity, and community building. A future where:

Youth take an active role in the transformation of their communities.
• The educational community is prepared to support diversity and justice.
⦁ Inclusion and sustainability are integrated into every learning space.
• Rural areas become centers of innovation and intercultural exchange.
• Learning is continuous, collective, and transformative.
At i-life, each project is a step toward a more just, sustainable, and compassionate world.

Intercultural team

Through our work, we provide the framework for creative and ongoing learning that allows individuals to develop their skills in interaction, reflection, and social action.

We are an intercultural team of volunteers and professionals in formal and non-formal education with complementary experiences and skills, specialized in working with young people with fewer opportunities and/or learning difficulties: teachers, social education staff, and a team of sociocultural instructors, with training in intercultural education, environmental education, team building, mediation, coaching, consultancy for work teams, and project management.

Pedagogical approach

We base our foundations on the active educationFavoring cooperation and participation. We use active methods where the individual is the main actor in their educational process. Our methods allow participants to discover other social and cultural realities, act, communicate, reflect, and thus learn:Learn by living and live by learning."It is a comprehensive learning process that unites the cognitive, emotional, and behavioral levels. In our work, we consider the group climate very important, recognizing the current state of each individual and making the most of the group's resources. We view conflict as a learning resource, as we positively value diversity and interaction. An ongoing challenge is learning to live with cultural and social differences and being able to adapt to constant changes. To achieve this, we believe it is essential to facilitate intercultural dialogue, help the individual develop a critical attitude, and encourage their active involvement in our society.
